JICA Engages in Strategic Discussion with Polije Leadership to Explore Collaboration

Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) welcomed representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for a strategic visit aimed at exploring potential JICA-Polije Collaboration in vocational education, applied research, and international capacity development.

The meeting was coordinated by Polije’s International Affairs Office (KUI) and attended by Polije’s top leadership and department heads.

During the formal session, Polije Director, Saiful Anwar, S.TP., M.P., expressed high enthusiasm about building long-term cooperation with JICA.

Both parties highlighted the importance of strengthening vocational education to meet global industry needs, particularly in agriculture, engineering, and technology.

“We are very enthusiastic about the potential for JICA-Polije Collaboration. This is a key momentum to strengthen vocational education to meet global industry needs,” Director Saiful Anwar asserted.

The event featured a presentation by Vigo Dewangga, Head of the International Affairs Office, who showcased Polije’s institutional profile, covering academic programs, international initiatives, campus achievements, and its vision for expanding global partnerships.

Vigo also emphasized Polije’s strong industry linkages and the success of its applied learning model. JICA representatives praised Polije’s commitment to producing competent, industry-ready graduates.

Meanwhile, representing JICA Indonesia, Project Formulation Adviser Inaba Shigeko delivered a presentation on JICA’s organizational mission and ongoing programs across Indonesia, including human resource development and technology transfer.

“Polije has a strong commitment in the fields of technology and sustainable agriculture, which aligns with JICA’s program focus in Indonesia,” explained Inaba Shigeko.

Inaba also outlined potential areas where JICA and Polije could work together, particularly in capacity building, curriculum development, and applied research in sustainable agriculture. The visit concluded with an interactive discussion session to identify promising collaboration opportunities.

Both parties expressed mutual optimism for the next steps, marking an important foundation for future partnerships supporting regional development and global-standard vocational education.
