67 Polije Students Strengthen Nutrition Education in Five Villages
JEMBER – A total of 67 students from Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) are conducting fieldwork in five villages. They are strengthening nutrition education and improving families' understanding of health issues.
The students are participating in a 35-day Field Work Program on Nutrition Intervention Management. The activities take place in Sukorambi, Karangpring, Klungkung, Dukuhmencek, and Jubung villages, Jember.
Polije officially handed over the students to the Sukorambi Subdistrict Government on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The handover ceremony took place at the Sukorambi Subdistrict Hall.
Sukorambi Subdistrict Head Mahmud Rizal, S.E., M.Si., welcomed the program. He encouraged students to adapt to local conditions and build effective communication with residents.
“Make the most of this opportunity to learn and make meaningful contributions. Help improve public understanding of the importance of nutrition,” Mahmud said.
Field supervisor Dessya Putri Ayu, S.KM., M.Kes., explained that the program allows students to apply their academic knowledge directly. They can also gain practical experience by engaging with communities.
“Build communication with the community and coordinate with village governments and the subdistrict administration,” Dessya advised.
Throughout the program, students will identify nutrition-related issues in their communities. They will also develop communication skills and design educational approaches that suit residents' needs.
The collaboration between Polije and the Sukorambi Subdistrict Government expands nutrition education at the village level. It also encourages families to understand nutritional needs and adopt healthier lifestyles.
Through this fieldwork program, Polije connects vocational education with community needs. Student involvement across five villages is expected to support public health improvement in Jember.
