JEMBER – The Agribusiness Management Department (MNA) of Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) held the international Agriexsho 2026 forum on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The event also marked the 26th anniversary of the MNA Department.

The forum carried the theme Food Security and Sustainable Food Systems and addressed challenges facing global food systems. Polije invited speakers from Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University and Chiang Mai University in Thailand.

A total of 530 participants from seven countries joined the seminar through Zoom. The MNA academic community also organized a business competition and marathon event as part of the anniversary celebration.

Held on September 9, 2026, the event supported the ministry’s focus on developing tropical agro-science and technology. The research team also plans to publish seminar outcomes in scientific articles for the academic community.

“This is an international agribusiness seminar that discusses food and energy security,” said Taufik Hidayat, Head of the MNA Department at Polije.

Taufik explained that insights from the Thai speakers could contribute significantly to strengthening national food security. He encouraged lecturers and students in the MNA Department to incorporate these insights into their academic and research work.

“In the future, we hope this event will grow further and involve more countries,” Taufik Hidayat added.

The organizing committee also emphasized the importance of consistently holding the annual event at Polije.

“Agriexsho is an event to celebrate and appreciate the MNA Department, which has been established for 26 years,” said Rallyanta Tarigan, Chair of the Organizing Committee.

Rallyanta added that 2026 marked the third edition of Agriexsho since its launch in 2024. The event has recorded a significant increase in participants from various countries.

“This year, Agriexsho carries the theme Tropical Agribusiness, which aligns with Politeknik Negeri Jember’s focus on tropical agro-science and technology,” Rallyanta Tarigan added.

Rallyanta emphasized that participation from hundreds of attendees further strengthens the agribusiness research ecosystem. The collaboration also reinforces Polije’s position within the global academic network.
