JEMBER — The Empower-U Incubation Program, as part of the special edition of Shape Your Future, officially began its first session on September 18, 2026. The program helps students prepare for workplace demands while identifying their potential and career direction.

The first session featured Career Compass Assessment: Mapping Interests, Potential, Competencies, and Career Paths. Dipl. Ing. Benaya Victorious Jaya from Swisscontact Indonesia, through the S4C program, served as the facilitator.

Benaya encouraged students to make self-understanding the foundation for determining their career direction. Participants were guided not only to consider employment trends but also to identify their interests, potential, competencies, and suitable work environments.

During the session, participants explored four key aspects of the Career Compass: Interests, Potential, Competencies, and Career Environment. They also used the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to identify and demonstrate competencies through academic, organizational, and social experiences.

The session was conducted interactively through individual reflection, pair discussions, group activities, and question-and-answer sessions. Students developed a Career Profile Canvas and Career Mapping Canvas to map three career options they could explore through internships and real-world projects.

Participants also presented their career choices through a 60-second pitch. The session allowed students to test their career ideas while receiving feedback from their peers.

A total of 94 students participated in the first session. The strong participation reflected students’ enthusiasm for developing their competencies and preparing for the workplace.

As a follow-up, participants received individual assignments to be submitted the following week. The assignments encouraged students to research jobs and companies, turn their reflections into concrete action plans, and update their professional profiles.

Through the Empower-U Incubation Program, students are expected to better understand their potential, develop personal growth strategies, and explore various career options in a more focused and structured way.
