JEMBER – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) welcomed an official visit from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Indonesia Office. The strategic meeting explored potential cooperation through the placement of Junior Experts at Polije.

The JICA Indonesia delegation attended the meeting following an official invitation from Polije Director Saiful Anwar. The discussion focused on strengthening international collaboration and developing human resources.

Polije’s Vice Director for Cooperation welcomed the JICA representatives together with the International Relations Office team. JICA Indonesia was represented by Volunteer Coordinator Kiyoko Fukuzaki and Program Officer Febria Quasianah.

During the meeting, JICA introduced the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers program, which places young Japanese experts in partner institutions. The program focuses on knowledge transfer, Japanese language education, computer technology, sports, and other areas.

“We hope the placement of Junior Experts will open broader opportunities for academic collaboration,” said Polije’s Vice Director for Cooperation.

The initiative reaffirms Polije’s commitment to expanding its global partnership network. The collaboration is also expected to provide tangible benefits by strengthening the skills of both students and lecturers.

As an initial step, both parties agreed to continue technical discussions on the program’s implementation. The planned collaboration with JICA further strengthens Polije’s position as an internationally competitive vocational higher education institution.
