JEMBER – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) commemorated Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day with three main events: a flag-raising ceremony, the presentation of Satyalancana Karya Satya awards, and the Polije Ethnic Carnival on Monday (August 17, 2026).

Polije Director Syaiful Anwar, S.TP., M.P., said the ceremony served as an important moment for the entire Polije community to strengthen its commitment to serving the nation.

“This moment is particularly meaningful in line with the theme of Indonesia’s Independence Day, Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia. Polije is committed to preparing itself to make a significant contribution to Indonesia’s development,” said Syaiful.

Syaiful explained that Polije continues to strengthen its role as a vocational higher education institution through research downstreaming and commercialization. The institution also promotes innovation based on its academic expertise and competencies to support industrial development.

As part of the celebration, Polije presented the Satyalancana Karya Satya awards to lecturers and education staff who have served the institution for 10, 20, and 30 years.

“This award is also a form of appreciation for the dedication and contributions of employees who have served Politeknik Negeri Jember according to their respective years of service,” Syaiful said.

Polije also presented the Polije Ethnic Carnival as part of the 81st Independence Day celebrations. The event adapted the creative concept of the Jember Fashion Carnival by combining modern culture, local wisdom, and the distinctive character of vocational education.

“We tried to adopt the Jember Fashion Carnival concept and adapt it to local wisdom and the competencies at Polije. This collaboration gave birth to the Polije Ethnic Carnival,” he explained.

The Polije Ethnic Carnival involved representatives from nine departments and internal service units at Polije. The event provided a platform for the academic community to showcase creativity while introducing Polije’s identity through cultural expression.

The three events formed an integral part of Polije’s 81st Independence Day celebrations. Together, they reinforced the spirit of public service, appreciation for employees, and creativity across the Polije academic community.
