POLIJE Darmasiswa RI Students Showcase International Achievements and Cultural Engagement
Politeknik Negeri Jember continues to demonstrate its commitment to international education through the achievements and active participation of international students in the Darmasiswa RI Program. Over the years, participants of the program have not only studied Bahasa Indonesia and local culture, but have also successfully represented cultural diversity and international friendship in various academic and cultural activities.
One of the notable achievements came from a Darmasiswa student who won First Place in the “Cerita Rakyat Nusantara” storytelling competition organized by Universitas Jenderal Soedirman in 2020. The competition involved international students from various universities across Indonesia and highlighted participants’ ability to deliver Indonesian folklore stories using Bahasa Indonesia confidently and creatively.
The achievement reflects the effectiveness of the Bahasa Indonesia for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) learning system implemented at POLIJE. Through intensive language training, cultural immersion, and interactive learning methods, students are encouraged to actively practice Indonesian in both academic and social environments.
In addition to academic accomplishments, Darmasiswa students at POLIJE have also become actively involved in cultural and community activities. One participant was invited as a guest star at the “Gus dan Ning Cilik & Remaja 2023” event organized by the Government of Jember Regency. The participation demonstrated the strong cultural adaptation and confidence developed by international students during their stay in Indonesia.
The program also promotes intercultural collaboration through various student exchange and networking activities. Darmasiswa participants joined the Collaboration International Camp organized together with students from several institutions in East Java. The event served as a platform for international and local students to strengthen friendships, exchange cultural perspectives, and build global connections.
Furthermore, POLIJE continuously supports international students through welcoming ceremonies, cultural orientation programs, and student community engagement. These activities aim to help students adapt to Indonesian culture and campus life while encouraging them to participate actively in both academic and non-academic programs.
The presence of Darmasiswa students at POLIJE contributes significantly to creating a multicultural academic environment on campus. Through daily interactions, collaborative activities, and cultural performances, both local and international students gain valuable experiences in cross-cultural communication and global understanding.
As one of the trusted host institutions for the Darmasiswa RI Program, POLIJE remains committed to strengthening international cooperation through education and cultural diplomacy. The achievements and participation of Darmasiswa students over the years demonstrate how the program successfully builds bridges between Indonesia and the international community.
Through these accomplishments, POLIJE hopes to continue providing meaningful learning experiences for international students while promoting Indonesian language, arts, and culture to the world. The institution also aims to further expand its international network and reinforce its vision of becoming a globally competitive vocational higher education institution.
