POLIJE Finalizes Preparations for Student Departure to MSU Malaysia 2026
Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE) continues to strengthen its international engagement by intensifying preparations for student mobility programs to Malaysia. In a recent coordination meeting, various technical aspects were discussed for two groups of students who will participate in programs at Management and Science University (MSU), namely the 2025 intake and the 2023 intake.
For the 2025 intake, two POLIJE students, Faiq and Fauzan, are scheduled to take part in the Oath-Taking program from May 10–14, 2026, at MSU Shah Alam. The program will be accompanied by a faculty member from POLIJE, Khoirul Huda, who will also undertake academic activities during the visit.
Meanwhile, a total of 14 students from the 2023 intake are planned to depart in September 2026. All participants are required to complete administrative requirements, including visa documentation, MyGlob registration, and medical check-ups prior to departure to ensure a smooth immigration process and academic transition abroad.
According to the meeting outcomes, Oath-Taking participants will depart from Jakarta, while the accompanying lecturer is scheduled to fly on May 10 at 10:00 AM and arrive in Malaysia at 1:00 PM local time. During the program, all participants will stay at Pegasus Hotel Shah Alam, sharing rooms that may also be mixed with students from other polytechnics to encourage networking opportunities.
Regarding return arrangements, Oath-Taking activities will conclude on May 14, 2026, and participants may schedule their return flights starting in the afternoon of the same day. For immigration purposes, all participants are instructed to state their travel purpose as “travelling” and present round-trip tickets along with hotel reservations to avoid administrative complications.
In addition to accompanying the students, Khoirul Huda is scheduled to deliver a Guest Lecture and engage in research collaboration discussions with MSU faculty members. This initiative is expected to open opportunities for joint publications and strengthen academic partnerships between the two institutions.
For the September 2026 intake, the visa payment deadline is set for May 30, 2026, with a possible extension until July for students facing specific constraints. The visa process consists of two stages: EMGS payment and E-Visa issuance, covering insurance and medical check-up services in Malaysia.
Students are also required to ensure that their passports are valid for at least 18 months, complete medical examinations—particularly hepatitis screening—and upload all required documents through MyGlob and EMGS platforms. Accuracy in document submission is crucial to avoid delays or rejection due to discrepancies.
In terms of logistics, POLIJE will facilitate transportation for students from Jember to Surabaya, before continuing their journey to Jakarta and Malaysia. Airport pickup coordination in Malaysia will be arranged jointly with students from partner institutions such as PNJ and other universities.
As a follow-up, Oath-Taking participants are required to submit a post-activity report in accordance with regulations from the State Secretariat. All communications are to be conducted through official group channels to ensure transparency and equal access to information.
Through these comprehensive preparations, POLIJE aims to ensure the smooth implementation of its international programs while providing valuable global exposure for its students. The institution also expressed its interest in revitalizing collaborative initiatives such as the Fast Track program with MSU to further enhance the competitiveness of its international class programs in the future.
