Polije Health Department Holds Final Mentions 2026 to Encourage Medical Innovation
The Health Department of Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) successfully organized Final Mentions 2026, an innovation exhibition designed to showcase student projects and strengthen the role of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in healthcare education. Carrying the theme “Enhancing Awareness and Education on Digestive System Health as a Pillar of Sustainable Health Development,” the event highlighted creative solutions developed by students to address contemporary health challenges.
The academic exhibition involved intensive collaboration among three strategic study programs within the Health Department. Through the integration of multiple theoretical courses into a single practical project, students were encouraged to apply their knowledge in developing innovative products and educational initiatives that respond directly to community health needs.
Polije Director Saiful Anwar emphasized that student innovations must continue to evolve alongside developments in modern healthcare. For this reason, the institution invited representatives from local health authorities and professional associations to attend the exhibition, providing students with opportunities to present their work to key stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
According to the Director, the integration of various courses through Project-Based Learning has enabled students to produce creative and practical innovations. The exhibition served as evidence that vocational education can effectively combine academic learning with real-world applications, preparing students to become competent healthcare professionals and innovators.
One of the primary objectives of Final Mentions 2026 was to ensure that student innovations deliver tangible benefits to society. By focusing on digestive health awareness and education, the projects addressed an important aspect of public health while supporting broader efforts to improve community well-being and sustainable healthcare development.
Senior academic Dr. Ir. Rindiani, M.P. highlighted the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills among future healthcare professionals. She explained that vocational education institutions should not only focus on technical competencies but also equip students with business and marketing skills that enable them to commercialize innovative products and services.
The event demonstrated how innovation and entrepreneurship can complement healthcare education. By encouraging students to think beyond product creation and consider market opportunities, Polije aims to cultivate graduates who are capable of generating economic value while contributing to public health improvement.
Through Final Mentions 2026, Polije reaffirmed its commitment to producing innovative, socially responsible, and entrepreneurial healthcare professionals. The exhibition not only showcased the creativity of students but also strengthened collaboration between academia, government agencies, and professional organizations in advancing healthcare innovation for the benefit of society.
