Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) organized an intensive In-House Training program in collaboration with two prominent scientific publishing institutions to strengthen the academic writing and journal management competencies of its lecturers and researchers. The initiative reflects Polije’s commitment to enhancing the quality and global visibility of its scientific publications.

The training was organized by Polije’s Center for Research and Community Service (P3M) and conducted in partnership with the Indonesian Journal Publisher Institution and the Indonesian Scientific Publishing Professional Certification Institute. The program focused on improving participants’ capabilities in scholarly book writing and the management of reputable scientific journals.

During the event, participants were divided into two main learning tracks. The first track concentrated on transforming research findings into publishable academic books, guiding participants through the entire process from manuscript preparation to publication submission. The second track focused on journal governance, providing strategies for improving journal quality and achieving recognition in major indexing databases.

The training featured several distinguished speakers from Indonesia’s scientific publishing community. Experts shared their experiences and best practices in academic publishing, journal management, editorial standards, and indexing requirements, enabling participants to gain practical insights into the evolving landscape of scholarly communication.

Polije Director Saiful Anwar emphasized the importance of strengthening publication capacity as part of the institution’s academic development strategy. He highlighted that high-quality publications not only contribute to scientific advancement but also enhance institutional reputation and support the achievement of national and international accreditation targets.

One of the key objectives of the program was to assist participants in producing tangible outputs. Expected outcomes included manuscripts ready for book submission, journal indexing applications to databases such as Scopus and DOAJ, and preparations for higher-level SINTA accreditation. These outputs are expected to contribute directly to improving the quality of Polije’s research dissemination.

The initiative also aligns with Polije’s broader efforts to strengthen its research ecosystem. Through its publishing platforms, journals, proceedings, and academic press services, the institution continues to encourage lecturers and researchers to disseminate knowledge and innovation more effectively to national and international audiences.

By organizing the In-House Training in collaboration with leading scientific publishing institutions, Polije demonstrates its commitment to academic excellence and research quality. The program is expected to enhance the publication skills of its academic community, improve the performance of institutional journals, and further strengthen Polije’s position as a leading vocational higher education institution in Indonesia.
