Polije Introduces UHT TEFA as a Center for Innovation and Business Opportunities

JEMBER – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) introduced its UHT Teaching Factory (TEFA) to MSME actors and the Jember community. The activity took place through a Community Service Program under the PkM-TEFA scheme, funded by Polije’s PNBP.

The PkM team organized an activity titled “Dissemination of Pasteurized Milk Products from Polije UHT TEFA.” The activity aimed to improve skills and encourage opportunities for community-based startup businesses.

The PkM team introduced the UHT TEFA profile through meetings and discussions with participants. They explained the facilities, milk processing procedures, and opportunities for collaboration with communities and businesses.

In addition, the team presented UHT TEFA as a vocational education facility that supports student learning. The facility also provides opportunities for training, production, research, and business development.

The discussion covered opportunities for milk-based products, business needs, and potential partnerships. Participants also explored opportunities to develop sustainable businesses based on milk products.

PkM Team Leader Rizki Amalia Nurfitriani, S.Pt., M.Si., said UHT TEFA was designed to address community and business needs.

“Polije UHT TEFA is not only a place for students to learn. We also provide a space for collaboration among education, technology, communities, and businesses,” Rizki explained.

The lecturer team included Dyah Laksito Rukmi, S.Pt., M.Si., Siti Diah Ayu Febriani, S.Si., M.Si., and Hutama Puranto Aji, S.Pt., M.Pt. Michael Joko Wibowo, S.T., M.T., also contributed to the implementation of the activity.

Students also participated as part of their experiential vocational learning. They included Aina Syifa Putri Sugiati, Fahrul Gunawan, and Yossia Septiana Christandy.

Aina and Fahrul are students of the Diploma III Animal Production Study Program. Meanwhile, Yossia is a student of the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Animal Feed Technology.

The PkM team then continued the activity with a product-making simulation at Polije UHT TEFA. Participants gained hands-on experience in milk product processing.

Through this activity, Polije strengthened the role of UHT TEFA as a space for innovation and collaboration. In addition, UHT TEFA provides opportunities to develop startup businesses based on milk products.
