Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) has officially launched E-Cafe, a new culinary hub located within its main campus. The thematic café was inaugurated by Polije Director, Saiful Anwar, and represents a unique collaboration between students and lecturers from the Engineering Department. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and practical learning within a vocational education environment.

The establishment of E-Cafe originated from a bottom-up movement driven by the creativity and ideas of students. What began as a student initiative was later developed together with lecturers and department leaders into a productive business unit. According to Saiful Anwar, the project serves as an inspiring example of how academic creativity can be transformed into a real economic venture.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Director praised the Engineering Department for successfully translating innovative ideas into a meaningful campus facility. He expressed hope that the success of E-Cafe would encourage other departments at Polije to develop similar initiatives that combine education, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

One of the distinctive features of E-Cafe is its Japanese-themed menu. The culinary offerings were developed by a lecturer who studied in Japan, bringing authentic inspiration and unique flavors to the campus community. The Director highlighted the quality of the menu and expressed his appreciation for the café’s concept. E-Cafe also adheres to the Zona KHAS standard, which emphasizes food safety and quality assurance. Under this concept, all products sold at the café are guaranteed to be Halal, Safe, and Healthy. This commitment ensures that members of the campus community can enjoy high-quality food while maintaining confidence in food hygiene and safety standards.

The launch of E-Cafe demonstrates Polije’s dedication to integrating academic learning with real-world business practices.
