Polije Officially Welcomes 3,290 New Students at 2026 PKKMB

JEMBER – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) officially welcomed 3,290 new students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Among them, seven international students have enrolled to pursue their studies at the institution.

The international students expressed their excitement about studying at the leading vocational institution. They also said that the warmth and hospitality of the Indonesian people had made a lasting impression on them.

“I am very happy to study at Polije because it provides the practical experience and learning opportunities I need,” said Saleh Ahmed Nasser Ali.

The Yemeni student, who is studying Development Technology with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, chose Polije because of its strong digital presence. This reputation encouraged him to pursue his higher education in Jember.

“I learned about Polije through YouTube, several websites, and recommendations from friends,” Saleh Ahmed Nasser Ali explained.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia expressed its appreciation for Polije’s implementation of the PKKMB program. The ministry highlighted the structured and informative orientation provided for new students.

“We congratulate all the new students who have been admitted to Politeknik Negeri Jember,” said Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja, S.T., M.T.

The Director of Learning and Student Affairs at the Directorate General of Higher Education praised Polije’s progress in developing campuses outside major urban areas and in the frontier, outermost, and least developed regions, known as 3T areas. Through these efforts, Polije continues to contribute to the equitable distribution of higher education across Indonesia.

“We welcome Polije’s efforts to support equal access to education, including through the development of higher education in 3T areas,” Beny Bandanadjaja emphasized.

Meanwhile, Polije Director Saiful Anwar, S.TP., M.P., reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting students throughout their adaptation period. The university also introduced academic culture and key values, including violence prevention and anti-drug awareness.

“This moment marks the first step in introducing the campus environment to new Politeknik Negeri Jember students,” he said.

The Polije Director expressed hope that students would adapt quickly during the week-long orientation program. The entire series of activities was designed to prepare students for their academic journey and life on campus.

“We hope the new students can adapt quickly and pursue their education according to their parents’ expectations,” Saiful Anwar added.
