Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) has reaffirmed its readiness to support Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program by supplying food ingredients to Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) units. The initiative demonstrates Polije’s commitment to strengthening local food supply chains while contributing to one of the government’s key national nutrition programs.

According to Polije Director Saiful Anwar, the institution possesses a well-established production ecosystem through its various Teaching Factory (TEFA) units. These productive facilities are capable of consistently producing high-quality food products that meet national nutrition and food safety standards.

Polije has expressed its openness to collaborating with SPPG operators across different regions. The partnership aims to ensure a stable supply of hygienic, standardized, and sustainable food ingredients required to support the successful implementation of the MBG Program.

Currently, the institution actively supplies a variety of food commodities that form essential components of nutritious meal menus. Through its diverse TEFA units, Polije can provide food products in large quantities while maintaining quality control and production consistency.

Among Polije’s flagship products are bakery items, fresh milk, and various processed food products. These products have undergone strict quality assurance procedures to ensure food safety and nutritional value for program beneficiaries.

The initiative also highlights the important role of vocational education institutions in supporting national development programs. By utilizing its productive teaching facilities, Polije not only provides practical learning opportunities for students but also contributes directly to strengthening local food systems and regional economic development.

Saiful emphasized that cooperation between Polije and SPPG units can help build a more resilient food supply network. Such collaboration is expected to improve food sovereignty, create economic opportunities for local communities, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the MBG Program.

Through the optimization of its productive units, Polije continues to demonstrate how vocational higher education can generate tangible benefits for society. By supplying quality food products to SPPG facilities, the institution supports the success of the Free Nutritious Meal Program while advancing its mission of innovation, community service, and sustainable development.
