Polije, PT Rolas, and MHI Islamic Boarding School Sign MoU on Waste Management

JEMBER – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Rolas Nusantara Medika and MHI Islamic Boarding School in Bangsalsari. Themed “Building Brotherhood, Strengthening Synergy and Collaboration,” the event took place at the Haji Juli Dodi Hall of YPP MHI Bangsalsari on Sunday (September 6, 2026).
The three institutions will collaborate on technical guidance, organic waste processing, and waste management monitoring. The organizers also combined the collaborative event with the inauguration of the Central Board of the MHI Alumni Association (HIKAM).
Polije Director Saiful Anwar, S.TP., M.P., said the initiative represents a practical implementation of the university’s Tri Dharma responsibilities. Polije will provide appropriate technology to support efficient and independent organic waste management.
“Through this collaboration, Politeknik Negeri Jember hopes that research outcomes can create a tangible impact on the community,” Saiful Anwar said.
Head of MHI Islamic Boarding School in Bangsalsari, Dr. Mirhabun Nadir Halimy, welcomed the cross-sector collaboration. He encouraged all parties to follow up on the MoU with concrete programs involving the alumni community.
“This MoU aims to build synergy and serve as a problem solver for the community,” Mirhabun Nadir Halimy said.
Meanwhile, Director of PT Rolas Nusantara Medika, dr. Syamsul Bahri, M.P.K., M.K.K., appreciated the technical guidance provided by Polije. The collaboration offers an environmentally friendly approach to processing hospital food waste into productive resources.
“Through this collaboration, we hope to manage waste independently while also providing benefits for the Islamic boarding school,” Syamsul Bahri said.
Head of the Jember Office of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Aries Budiman, S.E., M.M., also attended the event, which strengthened cooperation among state-owned enterprises, academia, and Islamic boarding schools. The initiative demonstrates Polije’s commitment to developing sustainable waste management solutions in Jember.
