Polije Strengthens International Collaboration Through WFK-ICT Alongside 10 Polytechnics Across Indonesia
JEMBER – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije), together with PT Rolas Nusantara Medika, has moved into the initial coordination phase to finalize plans for a joint organic waste management mentoring program. The meeting took place at an Islamic boarding school foundation in Jember Regency to align perspectives on drafting the overarching concept for the environmental program.
This collaboration adopts a tripartite model to deliver concrete solutions to organic waste issues. Furthermore, the mentoring program aims to foster environmental awareness among the students (santri).
PT Rolas representative, Tony Hermawan, emphasized that the collaboration with Polije focuses on resolving waste problems as well as empowering the community. Therefore, this strategic partnership can create a self-sustaining and sustainable waste management ecosystem.
"This collaboration provides solutions to untreated organic waste issues while building environmental awareness within the Islamic boarding school community," said PT Rolas representative, Tony Hermawan.
Meanwhile, Dr. Yossi Wibisono, S.TP., M.P., Vice Director for Finance and General Affairs at Polije, warmly welcomed this strategic synergy. His institution has prepared organic waste processing facilities that are currently actively operating on campus grounds.
Furthermore, Polije is committed to educating the boarding school community on converting waste into maggot cultivation and valuable compost fertilizer. This step serves as a tangible manifestation of the campus's dedication to local environmental sustainability.
"Polije stands ready to assist the boarding school in enhancing skills to transform waste into valuable products," stated Dr. Yossi Wibisono.
As an initial step, all parties, alongside the boarding school foundation, will sign a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) document. Subsequently, the joint team will finalize the technical concepts and conduct direct hands-on mentoring in the field.
