POLIJE Strengthens International Cooperation at China-ASEAN Agricultural TVET Conference

Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE) participated in the main conference of the 2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week on September 10, 2026, in Guizhou, China. The event focused on China-ASEAN Agricultural Vocational Education Industry-Education Integrated Development and the Annual Conference of the China-ASEAN Agricultural TVET Industry-Education Integration Community.

The POLIJE delegation was represented by Agung Wahyono, Ph.D., Vice Director for Cooperation and Public Relations of POLIJE, and Vigo Dewangga, S.S., M.Pd., Head of the International Cooperation Office (KUI) of POLIJE. Their participation demonstrated POLIJE’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and expanding cooperation in agricultural vocational education with institutions and industry partners across China and ASEAN countries.

The conference opened with a ceremony attended by Zhang Minghua, Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Guizhou Province, and Wang Weihong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Guizhou Vocational College of Agriculture. The opening session formally marked the beginning of the main conference and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in advancing agricultural vocational education.

The opening session was followed by keynote speeches from representatives of China, Lao PDR, Indonesia, and other participating institutions. Agung Wahyono, Ph.D., represented POLIJE among the keynote speakers, contributing an Indonesian perspective to discussions on agricultural vocational education and China-ASEAN cooperation.

One of the key sessions was the signing ceremony, which featured several cooperation agreements involving educational institutions and industry partners. Of particular significance was a three-party cooperation agreement involving Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College, Politeknik Negeri Jember of Indonesia, and PT Haida Agriculture Indonesia. The agreement marked an effort to strengthen institutional and industry collaboration across countries.

The conference continued with thematic presentations from representatives of China, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and other participating organizations. During the afternoon session, Yang Jingyong, HR Director of PT Haida Agriculture Indonesia, and Wiyoto, S.Pi., from Bogor Agricultural University were among the speakers sharing perspectives on agricultural vocational education and industry-related cooperation.

In the late afternoon, participants attended the Integration Community Council Meeting. The meeting discussed organizational adjustments within the community, changes involving the lead institution of the Malaysia Country Group, three major projects proposed for the 15th Five-Year Plan, and other matters related to the development of the China-ASEAN Agricultural TVET Industry-Education Integration Community.

The conference concluded with a summary delivered by Su Yue. Through its participation, POLIJE gained an important platform to strengthen international networks, develop educational and industry partnerships, and explore opportunities for continued collaboration in agricultural vocational education within the China-ASEAN framework.
