JEMBER – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) held an International Student Orientation to prepare international students for their studies in Indonesia. The program provided essential information on immigration documents, residence permits, the campus academic environment, and health insurance coverage.

Through the structured orientation, Polije encouraged international students to adapt quickly to life in Jember Regency. The organizers also invited experts from the Immigration Office, Jember Police, and Jember Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dispendukcapil) as speakers.

Polije Vice Director for Cooperation and Public Relations, Agung Wahyono, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of understanding regulations for international students. The university aims to ensure that students from different countries comply with all applicable legal and administrative requirements in Indonesia.

“We provide information on immigration, security, and population administration regulations so that they do not violate applicable rules,” Agung Wahyono said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Jember Population and Civil Registration Agency Bambang Saputro expressed full support for the legal status of the ten international students. His office will issue a Certificate of Residence (SKTT) to ensure proper population administration in the region.

“We will issue SKTT documents for them throughout their studies and residence in Jember,” Bambang Saputro said.

Polije’s academic community believes that the presence of international students will enrich intercultural interaction and strengthen the university’s global network. With a strong understanding of local regulations, the international students are expected to actively contribute to the Polije community throughout their studies.
