Polije Students Explore Cyclotron Target System Technology at Dharmais Cancer Hospital
JAKARTA – Three students from Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) participated in a research internship program at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). During the program, they explored innovative cyclotron target system technology.
The three students are from the Automotive Engineering Study Program: Wahyu Nur Pratama, Achmad Axel Faliandra Gunawan, and M Fikri Azhar.
They conducted their research at the Center for Radioisotope Technology, Radiopharmaceuticals, and Biodosimetry Research, located at the Baharuddin Jusuf Habibie Science and Technology Park (KST) in Serpong.
As part of the program, the students received hands-on learning about cyclotron systems. The practical learning took place at Dharmais Cancer Hospital in West Jakarta.
Wahyu Nur Pratama said the program provided valuable new experience in understanding cyclotron technology.
“This experience helped us understand how a cyclotron system works directly. We also gained insight into the application of technology in the healthcare sector,” said Wahyu.
The internship was supervised by Prof. Dr. Imam Kambali, S.T., M.Phil., Ph.D., and Syefudin Ichwan, S.T., M.T.
Meanwhile, Nugroho Setyo Wibowo, S.T., M.T., served as Polije’s person in charge (PIC) for the BRIN Internship Program. He ensured that the students gained research experience aligned with their areas of expertise.
“This program provides students with opportunities to learn directly through research and technology. Such experience is important for strengthening their competencies,” said Nugroho.
Through the program, Polije students are expected to develop a deeper understanding of cyclotron technology. The experience also provides valuable preparation for strengthening their competencies in automotive technology and energy.
