Polije Students Generate Hundreds of Millions in Sales Through AI-Powered TikTok Content
A group of students from the Business Department of Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) has achieved remarkable success in digital entrepreneurship by generating hundreds of millions of rupiah in sales through AI-powered TikTok affiliate marketing. The project, titled “From Content to Commission,” demonstrates how artificial intelligence can be utilized to create innovative business opportunities with minimal startup capital.
Led by project coordinator Ahmad Muhajir, the student team developed a business model that integrates artificial intelligence into the content creation process. By utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT and Grok, they were able to generate promotional scripts, develop marketing strategies, and produce engaging video content efficiently for TikTok affiliate campaigns.
The innovation lies in the automation of content production. Rather than purchasing physical product samples and creating traditional promotional videos, the team leveraged AI technology to generate marketing materials digitally. This approach significantly reduced operational costs and lowered the financial barriers often faced by students who wish to start a business.
According to the team, artificial intelligence enabled them to streamline the content development process while maintaining creativity and consistency. By combining AI-generated ideas with effective social media management strategies, they successfully built an audience and increased product visibility on TikTok.
The results were impressive. Between March 19 and May 18, the team recorded a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of approximately IDR 219.7 million through their affiliate marketing activities. During the same period, they earned an estimated commission of more than IDR 17 million, demonstrating the substantial income potential of digital business models powered by AI and social media platforms.
The project was developed through Polije’s Project-Based Learning (PBL) program, which encourages students to solve real-world problems while applying academic knowledge in practical settings. Team members Revanza Kevin, Muhammad Ilham, Rizky Yonas, and Muhammad Rq Ardiansyah collaborated to design and execute the initiative, gaining valuable entrepreneurial and digital marketing experience.
Inspired by the success of the project, the students have proposed that affiliate marketing be incorporated into the Business Department’s curriculum. They believe that understanding modern digital marketing strategies, particularly those involving AI and social commerce, will provide students with relevant skills for the evolving digital economy.
The achievement highlights Polije’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy among its students. By leveraging artificial intelligence and social media platforms, the team demonstrated how vocational education can empower young entrepreneurs to create scalable businesses, generate significant revenue, and adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of digital commerce.
