Students of the English Study Program at Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) successfully organized an educational talk show in collaboration with the Tanoker Foundation, demonstrating the practical implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in vocational education. Held at the main campus on May 25, 2026, the event served as a platform for students to apply academic knowledge while engaging directly with community-based educational initiatives.

The talk show was designed as an interdisciplinary project that integrated multiple courses within the English Study Program. According to lecturer Nodistya Septian Indrastana, the activity represented a comprehensive learning model where students were responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a real public event. This approach enabled participants to develop both academic and professional competencies simultaneously.

Through collaboration with the Tanoker Foundation, students gained valuable exposure to community empowerment programs and educational development initiatives. The partnership provided opportunities for participants to interact with practitioners and community leaders, allowing them to connect classroom learning with real social challenges and solutions.

The event highlighted the importance of communication and public engagement skills in the modern workforce. Students were actively involved in moderating discussions, preparing event materials, managing participants, and coordinating with external partners. These experiences helped strengthen their confidence and professional readiness.

As part of the Project-Based Learning framework, the talk show emphasized experiential learning rather than traditional classroom instruction. Students were encouraged to take ownership of the project from the initial planning stages to the final implementation, enabling them to develop leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

The collaboration also reflected Polije’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with community organizations. By working alongside the Tanoker Foundation, the institution demonstrated how vocational education can contribute to social development while providing meaningful learning experiences for students.

Participants and attendees responded enthusiastically to the event, which provided insights into education, youth empowerment, and community engagement. The interactive format encouraged knowledge sharing and meaningful discussions between students, speakers, and community representatives.

The successful implementation of the talk show project further reinforces Polije’s dedication to innovative learning methods that prepare students for real-world challenges. Through Project-Based Learning and strategic community partnerships, the institution continues to produce graduates equipped with technical expertise, communication skills, and social awareness needed to thrive in professional and community settings.
