WFK-ICT 2026 Closing Ceremony Strengthens Collaboration Between Indonesian and Korean Students
JEMBER – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) concluded the World Friends Korea ICT Volunteers (WFK-ICT) 2026 program with a closing ceremony. The event provided a platform for students to present the results of their collaborative projects.
The partnership between Polije and Kyungpook National University (KNU) marked its seventh WFK-ICT program at Polije. This year, students from around 10 polytechnics across Indonesia also joined the program.
Indonesian and Korean students developed joint projects from the planning stage through implementation. They addressed real-world challenges and transformed their ideas into a range of prototypes.
Wahyu Kurnia Dewanto, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Director for Student Affairs and Information Systems at Polije, said the program provided valuable experience in international collaboration.
“Our primary focus was to develop projects together. The students collaborated to address real-world cases and produce prototypes,” he said.
Wahyu explained that participants also built international networks through various non-academic activities.
“The collaboration was not limited to knowledge exchange and project networking. They also engaged in cultural exchange,” he said.
Participants took part in various cultural exchange activities, including K-Food, K-Game, sports, cooking sessions, and traditional games.
These activities encouraged students to communicate and collaborate with participants from different regions. They also gained firsthand experience of Indonesian and South Korean cultures.
Through the closing ceremony, Polije and KNU reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening international collaboration. The WFK-ICT program also opens opportunities for future student exchanges and joint project development.
