JEMBER – The Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) campus suddenly came alive with laughter and excitement. Participants of the World Friends Korea ICT Volunteers (WFK-ICT) 2026 enthusiastically took part in the Korean Game Day program.

The activity brought together students from Kyungpook National University (KNU), South Korea, and Polije through a series of traditional games. Moreover, the interactive event provided an effective way to break the ice and strengthen cross-cultural friendship.

The international program, supported by South Korea’s National Information Society Agency (NIA), offered participants a unique and enjoyable experience. The students from both countries also demonstrated strong teamwork as they completed each game challenge.

“The Korean Game Day activity on campus reflects the close friendship and warm cultural exchange between the participants,” said WFK-ICT Polije President Azrieal Akbar Zackiansyah. He added that the event successfully brought the participants together through a shared spirit of enthusiasm.

WFK-ICT President from KNU, Jeong Donggi, also welcomed the excitement of the cross-cultural games. He said that the shared experience helped participants adapt more easily and build stronger teamwork during the program.

“Through these traditional games, we want to share happiness while introducing Korean culture in an enjoyable way,” said Jeong Donggi.

Through the WFK-ICT 2026 program, participants are not only focused on information technology-based community service in the classroom. The Korean Game Day also added a new dimension to the annual collaboration between the two institutions, which has continued since 2019.

Participants from both universities hope the shared experience will become a memorable part of their time in the program. Ultimately, this international collaboration demonstrates that global friendship can grow stronger through moments of joy and togetherness.

“Hopefully, the friendship and synergy between Polije and KNU, South Korea, will continue to grow,” Jeong Donggi concluded.
