CHINA – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) lecturer Dr. Elly Kurniawati, S.T.P., M.P., visited Top Cloud-Agricultural Smart Equipment in China.

The visit was part of the Teacher Training Smart Agriculture program organized by HOPE Indonesia and Jiaxing Vocational Technical College from August 15 to September 15, 2026.

A total of 16 participants from Politeknik Negeri Payakumbuh, Politeknik Negeri Lampung, Polije, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang joined the program. They explored smart agriculture technologies across various fields of expertise.

Top Cloud-Agricultural Smart Equipment was one of the industrial sites visited during the program. Participants explored the application of technology in modern agriculture, including the use of Agricultural IoT to improve agricultural quality and efficiency.

Elly said the visit provided firsthand insights into the development of smart agricultural technology in China. The experience also broadened participants’ understanding of the needs of modern industries.

“The industrial visit provided direct insights into the application of technology and modern agricultural systems in China,” Elly said.

In addition to Top Cloud, the participants visited Zhejiang Mitsuo Seed and Cephagri Seed Limited. The series of visits introduced participants to various technological applications across the agricultural sector.

Elly plans to bring the knowledge and experience gained from the program into classroom learning at Polije. She believes industry exposure can help lecturers strengthen students’ practical learning.

“We will apply the experience gained during the training and industrial visits to improve the quality of practical learning for Polije students,” Elly added.

Through the Teacher Training Smart Agriculture program, Polije continues to expand its lecturers’ expertise while strengthening partnerships across the international vocational education and industry sectors.
