CHINA – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) is expanding its international industry insights through a series of visits to industrial companies in China. One of the destinations was Cephagri Seeds Limited in Jiaxing.

The visit was attended by Dr. Elly Kurniawati, a lecturer in the Food Engineering Technology Study Program. The international program was organized through a collaboration between HOPE Indonesia and Jiaxing Vocational Technical College and runs from August 15 to September 15, 2026.

The visit to Cephagri Seeds Limited gave participants an opportunity to observe industrial activities firsthand. They also gained insights into operational processes, technology applications, and industry standards implemented in China.

According to Dr. Elly Kurniawati, the industrial visit provided relevant experience for strengthening lecturers’ practical knowledge.

“Industrial visits provide direct insight into the application of technology and professional industry standards at the international level,” Elly said.

She noted that the experience could enrich practical learning for Polije students. International industry insights can also help align academic instruction with the evolving needs of the workforce.

“We will apply the experience gained from this industrial visit to improve the quality of practical learning for Polije students,” Elly added.

In addition to Cephagri Seeds Limited, the international program gave participants opportunities to explore educational institutions and industrial environments in China.

Through the program, Polije continues to strengthen industry-oriented vocational education through direct field experience. The initiative also expands Polije’s academic network and creates opportunities for international collaboration among its academic community.
